How to Make an All Natural Cleaner for Your Home

all-natural cleaner

Last summer, we began converting our household cleaner and health care products to all-natural products. We aren’t completely converted and don’t know if we ever will be. But, starting somewhere is better than nothing, right?

While I researched all the benefits of essential oils I was sold! I’ve heard of essential oils being super pricey but I found that the Now Foods Essential Oils are quite reasonable. I also learned most natural recipes require only a few drops of essential oil. Therefore, it will go a long way! Also, you can use many of the same essential oils to make several different products/recipes.

I wanted to start off with a simple recipe and thought, what do I use the most? I fell like I wipe down my counter top and island more than once a day, every day. So, it made sense to start with an all-purpose, all-natural cleaner. This cleaner recipe is just two ingredients, yes two! Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap and an essential oil scent of your choice. This simple all-natural cleaner smells lovely and is safe for the whole family, even our fur babies.

I’ll get to the details on how to make an all-natural cleaner shortly. But first, let me just say Dr. Bronner’s Magic Soaps Pure-Castile Soap is ridiculously useful. You can wash your hair, mop the floors, bath your pets, wash your clothes, clean your fruits and veggies; I mean, the list goes on! It’s incredible. So, get on it and get you some! There are millions of recipes for all-natural products.

  1. Pour 1/4 cup of Dr. Bronners Castile Soap into an empty spray bottle. You’ll need a 32oz. bottle for this recipe.
  2. Add a quart of water (32 oz.) to your spray bottle.
  3. Add 10-15 drops of your favorite scent/essential oil. I used Orange for mine. 🙂
