I was recently trying to set up a date with one of my girlfriends. She was laughing at me because I was literally giving her dates one and two months out. Sometimes, I do hate it. I mean, why am I so busy and my schedule so full?! Well, because that’s life, right? We have families, work, and goals to accomplish! So why not be ahead of the game? Stop overbooking yourself and still fit in some “me time”.
KEEP A CALENDAR HANDY AT ALL TIMES
This has been key for me! I love my Classic Happy Planner but it’s a little on the large size and I’m not a “big purse” type of woman. So, when they came out with the Mini Happy Planner I was sold. It’s perfect to keep in my purse and pull out whenever I need to jot down a date or check my availability. This is my planner of choice, but all you need is a simple monthly layout calendar or even your cell phone calendar to keep all your important dates scheduled.

Back in January, I sat down to create my yearly vision board with my bestie Vanessa. This year I opted to create mine in my planner since I knew I would look at it if not every day, at least weekly. I wanted it to be in a place where I would have a constant reminder of where I wanted my life to be by the end of 2017. I had also seen a lot of my fellow planner babes talking about their “one little word” for the year. I looked into it some more and learned it was a tradition Ali Edwards started for herself and it has now grown into something even bigger!
The idea, in a nutshell, is you choose “one little word” and that word becomes your daily focus. Everything you do should reflect this word, daily. I took a look at my vision board and decided the only way I was going to reach these goals was to “apply” myself. And that was it, APPLY, was my one little word.
A single word can be a powerful thing. It can be the ripple in the pond that changes everything. It can be sharp and biting or rich and soft and slow. – Ali Edwards
It’s now the beginning of July and we are officially past the half-way mark for the year! Woohoo! We’ve made it! I felt it was time to check in with myself and see how much progress I’ve made with “APPLYING” myself in order to reach my goals. And this is where I’m at with everything.
